Martin A. Ornelas

Martin A. Ornelas, 53, of Kansas City, KS died Saturday, May 20, 2023 at the Kansas City Hospice House.

A funeral service will be 10:00 am Friday, May 26, 2023 at Evangelistic Center Church, 5650 Renner Rd., Shawnee, KS 66217 with a visitation from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Dr, Shawnee, KS 66203.

Martin was born on September 8, 1969 to Jesse and Gabriel (Ramirez) Ornelas in Kansas City, Kansas.

Martin and Jeanette married on August 30, 1997. They were lifetime residents of Kansas City, KS. In December of 2003 their daughter Maria was born. Martin loved traveling by train with his family on their yearly trips to Disneyland. He was a movie enthusiast and enjoyed a variety of genres. Martin worked customer service at Providence and Walmart #1151 for over 20 years. Afterwards, he briefly worked for DS transportation before joining KU Medical Center until his death. Martin easily made friends wherever he went and was loved by all. He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Ornelas; daughter, Maria Ornelas (Zach Wheeler); soon-to-be grandson, Grayson Scott Wheeler; 9 siblings, Richard, Dolores, Michael, Daniel, Patricia, Anita, Jesse, Edward, David and their spouses and a host of nieces and nephews.
