Martin “Wayne” Regan, Sr.

June 5, 1927 — July 11, 2016

Martin "Wayne" Regan, Sr. 89, of Shawnee, KS, passed away July 11, 2016.

Wayne was born June 5, 1927 in Kansas City, KS to Patrick Joseph and Lona Regan. On September 26, 1953 he married the love of his life Evelyn Arnold.

Wayne served in the US Army as a Lieutenant during the Korean War. He was one of the co-founders of the Crippled Children's Nursery. Wayne was president and founder of Wayne Regan Realtors now Coldwell Banker Regan Realtors, president of the Johnson County Board of Realtors, appointed to the Kansas Real Estate Commission, by then, Governor Docking, chairman of the Kansas Real Estate Commission, Kansas Realtor of the Year. Wayne was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion Post 327.

Wayne was preceded in death by his father Patrick Joseph Regan, his mother Lona Regan, his brothers George Regan, Gene Regan and his sister Carol Regan and son-in-law Timothy Porter.

Survivors include his wife Evelyn E. Regan; seven children, Martin W. Regan, Jr. and wife Patty, Michael Regan, Kathleen Dorman and husband, Mike, Lisa Bourquin and husband, Joseph, Evelyn Porter, Joni Nachbar and husband, Richard, Patrick Regan and wife Rebecca; 19 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 14 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11311 Johnson Dr., Shawnee, KS 66203; burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church, where a Rosary recitation will be at 5:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to either Special Olympics or the ALS Foundation.
