Marvin Hincha, December 25, 1927 - December 5, 2021, passed away peacefully in Overland Park, Kansas with his family by his side.
Marvin was born in Sioux, IA. In 1945, Marvin joined and served in the United Sates Air Force during the Korean War. Upon returning home, Marvin married the love of his life, Polly (Bell) in West Plains, MO on May 22, 1950. In 1952 Marvin and Polly moved to Kansas City.
Marvin, determined to create opportunities for his family, dedicated himself to his work. After testing the waters in a few different occupations, he found fulfillment in the Insurance Industry. Marvin started his own insurance agency with Farmers Insurance in 1967. Marvin’s passion for people and thoughtful care helped him to build a very successful agency. His dedication to his policy holders over 38 years created a deep trust that helped him build and manage the largest agency in Wyandotte County at the time of his retirement.
Marvin lived a joy filled, active life that was rich in faith. He loved serving the local church.
Marvin is survived by Polly Hincha, his wife of 71 years; his daughters, Trula Greer (Steve) of Pekin, IL and Anita Carnahan (Dennis) of Overland Park, KS; his grand children Gary Greer (Jen) of Lawrence, KS, Jonathan Greer (Katie) Sapulpa, OK, Zach Carnahan (fiancé Kaly), KCMO and Jacob Carnahan (Kelsey) of Overland Park; and his 6 great grand children Brady, Stephen, Noah, Spenser, Lucy and Madelyn.
The family plans to host a visitation on Thursday, December 9 at the Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee KS 66203 at 11 am. A private graveside service will follow at 2 pm at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, Marvin’s family suggests donations to Interim Health Care, 10977 Granada Ln, Set 205, Overland Park, KS 66211.
