Mary Margaret Bundy

Mary Margaret (McBride) Bundy, 64, of DeSoto, Kansas, passed away May 6, 2011.

She was born September 4, 1946, in Great Bend, Kansas, to Paul and Louene (Steele) McBride. She graduated from Hays High School in 1964, and attended Fort Hays State University. Mary was married and had two children, Brent and Kimberly Bessey. Later Mary moved to Kansas City and began her career in the Insurance Business.

In 1977 Mary met the love of her life, John Bundy. They were married on May 21, 1978. Mary was blessed with many musical talents and enjoyed ceramics, gardening, traveling, quilts and reading. She loved to meet people but most importantly she loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, and her half-brother Jerry McBride. She is survived by her mother Louene McBride; husband John Bundy; children, Brent Bessey (Michelle), and Kimberly Herren (Travis Wright); grandchildren, Tyler Alexis, Courtney Mae, Hunter Charles, Jonathan Paul, Susan Grace, and Sophia Faith; her "Steele sisters", Carole, Marny, and Donita; John's sisters, Kathy, Cindy, and Linda; along with many cousins and friends.

Visitation and Service

A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Friday May 13, 2011, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. A funeral service will follow at 11 am with a lunch and reception afterwards, also at the funeral home.
