Mary Lillian Betz Callaghan, 87, Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Monday, June 28, 2010 at the Sweet Life of Shawnee.

Mary Lillian is survived by four daughters, Mary Frances (Ricardo) Martinez, North Kansas City, Missouri, Linda Sue (Kirk) Augustine, Springfield, Missouri, Beverly Anne (John) Schuepbach, Lenexa Kansas, Karen Jean (Stan) Swisher, Marshall, Missouri; one son, John Charles (Mabelle) Callaghan, Philippines; 15 grandchildren, Tricia (Mark) Northgrove, Tracy (Cliff) Jefferson, Amanda (Michael) Even, Tony (Karen) Bradbury, Sean Bradbury, Jessica Augustine, Joshua Augustine, Kelli Schuepbach and fiancé Brian Frerichs, Matthew (Elisha Stegelman) Schuepbach, Ryan Schuepbach, Eric (Molly) Bradley, Jacob Bradley, Nathan Swisher, Logan Callaghan, Shane Callaghan; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Callaghan Jr.; a daughter, Patricia Marie; two sisters, Ann Cook and Frances Housman; and two brothers, Walter Betz and Woodson Betz.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at he Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee; the rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 8, 2010, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Overland Park, Kansas with burial to follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Shawnee.
