Mary Ellen Crary

Mary Ellen Crary, 95, Shawnee, KS passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018 at the Brookdale at Rosehill, Shawnee, KS.

Mary Ellen was born August 8, 1923 in Elliott, IA to Vernon and Ruth DeWitt. During WWII, Mary Ellen assembled B-25 Bomber wings for North American Aviation in Kansas City. Following the war, she worked for Marsh McLennan Insurance Co. until her retirement.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her first husband, Amos Waters during WWII and her second husband, Tom Crary. She is survived by her sister, Eleanor Gassman; step-son, Grant (Jillian) Crary; and two nieces, Deborah (William) Carmody and Teresa (Gary) Babcock. She was Great Mary to numerous grandnieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church; inurnment in St. Joseph Cemetery.
