Mary Ann Denk, 87, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2013, while surrounded by her family.

Mary Ann was born in Sioux City, Iowa, but grew up in the Kansas City area. She graduated from Bishop Hogan High School and Providence Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse. After completing her education she immediately married Theodore Denk in 1948. Together they raised seven children.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by; parents Roger and Florence Kelly, brothers, Roger, Jr. and Martin; sister, Jean; husband Theodore, Sr.; son, Patrick and daughter, Mary Claire Dollard. She is survived by daughter, Sandra Ewing (Larry); son, Gregory (Bev); daughter, Kathleen Wyrick (Richard); son, Theodore, Jr. (Tina); son, Stephen (Stephanie); sister, Betty Ames and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mary Ann enjoyed vacationing at the Lake of the Ozarks where they owned a lake home. Family values and her Catholic faith motivated her throughout life. She was very active in the church and performed adorations and went to Mass daily. She will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa, Kansas, next to her husband. The family wishes to thank Evergreen Communities of Johnson County, Olathe, KS for the specialized dementia care and love she received, since 2010.

Visitation and Services

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., October 23, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11311 Johnson Drive, Shawnee Kansas. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church.

Memorial Contributions

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64145 are appreciated.
