Mary Sue Gist, 77, Merriam, Kansas, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015, at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.

Mary was born September 30, 1937 in California, Missouri, to Lawrence and Bessie (Zey) Kiesling. She had recently retired from The Mission Bank after 28 years of service.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald H. Gist in 1983, son, Robert A. Gist in 1979 and sister, Brenda Barnett in 2010. Survivors include her daughter, Rhonda (Jeff) Jordan, Shawnee, Kansas; son, Roger Gist, Merriam, Kansas; brother, Bill Kiesling, Spring Hill, Kansas; three sisters, Christie Barton, St. Joseph, Missouri, Donna Boos, Hiawatha, Kansas and Patty Molt, Atchison, Kansas; two grandchildren, Sam Jordan, Kansas City, Missouri and Maddie Ricci, Shawnee, Kansas.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 8 at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Highland Cemetery, Latham, MO. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where a rosary recitation will be at 6:00 p.m.
