Mary E. Hansen

Mary E. Hansen, 81, Shawnee, passed away Saturday evening, February 6, 2010, at Trinity Nursing and Rehab.

Mary was born October 31, 1928 in Marion, Indiana. On March 20 1955 she married Neil Hansen in Omaha, Nebraska. Mary was a member of Overland Park Lutheran Church, where she taught bible study classes and was active in numerous church activities. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family fishing, bowling and watching her beloved Cornhuskers and Royals. She was a great cook and will be remembered for her Dutch Apple Pie.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Neil C. Hansen; her children, Cindy Wilson and husband Lloyd, Memphis Tennessee, Terri Bryant and husband Frank, Basehor, Kansas, Steve Hansen and wife Lisa, Bonner Springs, Kansas; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank everyone who assisted in her care and for their compassion.

Services and Contributions

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 11, 2010, at Overland Park Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
