Mary Lou Heuer, 86, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013.

Mary Lou was born April 14, 1927, in Barber County, Kansas, to Harry and Bonnie Randolph. She graduated from Medicine Lodge High School in 1946. Mary Lou married Harlan Heuer in 1950. They moved to Overland Park in 1961, where Mary Lou lovingly raised her two children.

Mary Lou served on the Altar Guild at Trinity Lutheran Church, and was a member of the faculty wives at both Shawnee Mission North and Shawnee Mission South High Schools. She loved antique shopping and working in her yard, tending to her beautiful flowers. In her later years, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren provided much joy and happiness for Mary Lou, and brought a special sparkle to her eyes and to her life.

Mary Lou will be missed by her two children, son Michael and his wife Joyce, and daughter Cynthia; her grandchildren, Kristin Walker and her husband DJ and grandson Michael; great grandchildren Johanna and Johnny; sisters Norma Jean McComb, and Harriette (Dale) Kahmeyer; many nephews, nieces and dear friends.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband Harlan in 1998.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Saturday, June 22, 2013, at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m., at the Resurrection Cemetery.
