Mary F. Kincaid

May 2, 1926 — April 8, 2018

Mary Frances Kincaid passed away on April 8, 2018 at her home from natural causes. Mary was born on May 2, 1926 in  Carterville, Missouri to Minnie Miranda and Theodore Reinhold Schulze and spent her early years there. She moved with her family to Kansas City in 1942 where she finished high school in just three years and soon started her first job.  Through that job she met the love of her life, Graydon, at the Livestock Exchange Building and they were soon married. Their time together ended after 65 years of marriage when Graydon passed on in 2013.

Mary was a stay at home wife and mother and committed herself completely to those tasks.  She enjoyed and was active in her church, Merriam Christian, for over sixty years and was a long time member of The Eastern Stars. She volunteered her time and was always involved in various PTA activities when her children were in school. Mary loved to watch her eleven grandchildren participate in their sporting activities, decorate her house for all the holidays spending days attending to even the smallest of details and after Graydon retired she enjoyed traveling and taking the grandchildren everywhere she could.

All that knew Mary knew the most important thing in her life was her family and friends. She would do anything for anyone at any time and never asked for a thanks in return. She was truly one of the sweetest, kindest, most loving people many ever met. She had a special gift for knowing when something was wrong and always managed to provide support and counsel for those that needed her special touch.  In her later years even though she had many, many ailments, including kidney failure, she never complained and would light up any room with her smile.

Mary is survived by her older sister Dorothy who called her at least once a day, her three sons Don and his wife Patty, Mike and his wife Cindy and Jeff and his wife Pam. She also was able to see in her life her eleven grandchildren and her fifteen great grandchildren and passed on to them her love of family and her positive never say quit attitude.

Thanks to those who were with mom to the end. A special thanks to Angel, KK, Ben and Peggy and a special, special thanks to Elisha (Babe) Thomas and Bobby Pape that tirelessly gave of their time and love.

Visitation on Friday, April 13th, from 10:00-11:00 AM at Merriam Christian Church, 9401 Johnson Dr, Merriam, KS 66203.  Funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM also at Merriam Christian Church.  Burial at Floral Hills Cemetery in Kansas City, MO.
