Mary Mildred Lawson

Mary Mildred Lawson, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on September 27, 2023, at the age of 88. She was born on December 5, 1934, in Wichita, Kansas, and lived a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Mary was the beloved wife of Ray Don Lawson, and together they shared a marriage that spanned almost seven decades, having tied the knot in 1956. Their enduring love was an inspiration to all who knew them.

Mary spent 8 years as a grade school teacher before teaching a raising her own children.

Mary was a proud alumna of Friends University, where she received her education and was an avid member of the Singing Quakers. Mary continued her love for singing in church choirs where they would attend.

Faith and family were the cornerstones of Mary's life. She is survived by her loving husband, Ray Don Lawson, and their children: Rodger Lawson, Valerie Robertson, and Lorinda King Clemons. Though Lorinda has passed away, her memory lives on in the hearts of her family.

Mary leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren: Reese Lawson, Jessica Saunders, Marshall King, Kyle Douglas, Reagan Lighter, Jami Adams, and Liv'ae Robertson. She was also blessed with 8 great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy and happiness.

Mary Mildred Lawson will be remembered for her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She touched the lives of many with her warmth and compassion, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished.

A memorial service to celebrate Mary's life will be held on October 4th in Katy, TX and a graveside service October 9th at Shawnee Cemetery in Shawnee, KS at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in her memory to Samaritan’s Purse Samaritanspurse.org.

Mary's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
