Mary Ann Hoet) Markle

Mary Ann (Van Hoet) Markle, 95, lifelong Shawnee resident, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at Overland Park Place.

Mary was born December 13, 1917, to the late Adolph and Germaine (VanDenBroeke) Van Hoet in Shawnee, Kansas. Mary attended St. Joseph Catholic Grade School and was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Mary worked as an Inspector at West Vaco Pulp & Paper; she retired in 1980 after 42 years of service. Mary was a Past President of AARP #2333, Silver Liners Senior Group at Good Shepherd, and Keenagers.

She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph E. Markle; six brothers, Richard and wife Mary, Ernest, Frank, Joseph, Oscar; and a sister, Margaret (Babe) Kudlacek and husband Arnold; one niece; sisters in law, Edna Van Hoet, Rose Ann Van Hoet, Dorothy Van Hoet, Shirley Van Hoet; and 17 nieces, nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, September 23, 2013, at Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 12800 W. 75th Street, Shawnee, Kansas 66216. Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Lenexa, Kansas.
