Mary L. Marshall

November 2, 1909 — December 31, 2013

Mary Lucille Seffer Marshall, 104, formerly of Peoria, Illinois, passed away on December 31, 2013 at Villa St. Francis in Olathe, Kansas. She was born November 2, 1909, one of five children born to Henry and Mary (Molly) Seffer . Her husband, Eugene Marshall, Sr., son, Eugene Marshall, Jr. and grandson, Michael Marshall, Sr., preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, Terry Marshall and Paul Marshall (wife Vickie), five grandchildren, Judith Bennett (husband David), Bradley Marshall, Brandon Marshall, Staci Buranen (husband Todd), and Tricia Peterson (husband Bryan), thirteen great-grandchildren, Kristie Ruppee (husband Christopher), David Bennett, Jr. (wife Tina), Todd Bennett (wife Elizabeth), Michael Marshall, Jr. (wife Erin), Brian Marshall, Jacqueline Marshall, Jenny Marshall, Dakota and Brynn Marshall, Caenin Marshall and Conor Peterson, Victoria and Keilana Buranen, and eleven great-great-grandchildren.

Mary was a devoted wife, a special mother and mother-in-law, a beloved grandma, an adoring great-grandma and a delighted great-great-grandma. She enjoyed being a member of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church and prayed daily for her family. She loved to care for her garden and her flowers, to make jelly from her berries and to bake for her loved ones. She was a creative seamstress, with an ability to delight her grandchildren with hand-sewn treasures as well as recycling fabrics into new creations. She loved and missed her best friend, Mary Jennings, who had been part of her life since early childhood.

Mary Marshall accepted whatever came her way with grace, made the most of it and kept going. She was a source of strength for all of her family, including extended family in other states. She will be greatly missed.
