Mary Bernadine Oswald, 98, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2010.
Mary was born on September 5, 1912, in Greeley, Kansas. Mary resided in rural Greeley until the death of her husband, Raymond, in 1968, when she relocated to Overland Park, Kansas and then later to Mission, Kansas. At that time she found employment with Pyramid Life Insurance Company.
Mary was a devout Catholic, attended daily mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church and was a very active member of the Legion of Mary. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Josephine Egidy; her sisters, Martina Rues and Sister Theresa Egidy; her brothers, Frank Egidy, Louis Egidy and Ralph Egidy. She is survived by her sons, Donald and wife, Delores, Edward, Robert and wife, JoeAnn; daughter, Elaine and husband, David Burks; 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5500 Woodson Road, Mission, Kansas 66202.
Visitation and Funeral Service
Visitation will be from 9-10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, with a Rosary being recited at 9:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow. Burial will be 12:30 p.m., Wednesday in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Greeley, Kansas.
