Mary Lou Regan, 85, Shawnee, Kansas, passed away April 22, 2012, at home.

She was born September 6, 1926, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Emerich and Vera Klebl. She graduated from Bishop Ward High School in Kansas City, Kansas, in 1944. After working in a bank she married Eugene Regan in 1946 and devoted her life to family and raising her children as a happy homemaker, with family and her Catholic faith as her priorities. Her husband's career with Southwestern Bell took them to Salina, Leavenworth, Manhattan and Topeka, Kansas, before their return to Kansas City, where they have lived in Shawnee since 1965.

After a marriage of more than 60 years, she was preceded in death by her husband in April 2007; brother, Francis Klebl, who was killed in World War II; and two sisters, Sophia Visnosky and Sister Emerich Klebl, OSB, also preceded her in death, as did brother-in-law George (Barbara) Regan.

She is survived by three children, sons Eugene Jr. (Sharon), Lake St. Louis, Missouri and James (Patti), Overland Park, Kansas; and daughter Carolyn (George) Holton; six grandchildren, Amanda (Mark) Lighthiser, New Orleans, Louisiana, Ashley Regan, Atlanta, Georgia, Andrew Regan, Newnan, Georgia, Jay (Meara) Regan, Denver, Colorado, Carter Holton and Veronica Holton, of Overland Park; three great grandchildren, Charlotte and August Regan, Denver, Colorado, and Regan Lighthiser, New Orleans; brother-in-law Wayne (Evelyn) Regan, Shawnee; cousins Vera Clifford, Mission, Kansas, and Frieda Bader, Prairie Village, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at the Amos Family Funeral Home & Crematory. The Rosary will be recited at 6 pm. Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Shawnee, Kansas. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, Kansas.
