Mary E. Reiff

Mary Elizabeth Reiff, Overland Park, KS went to her eternal rest with Jesus, her Lord and Savior on July 17, 2015, within 20 hours of a shocking diagnosis of cancer. She left this life peacefully, surrounded by many family members.

Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Williams, and is survived by Paul, her childhood sweetheart and husband of 61 years, 5 children and their spouses, 13 grandchildren, and 91/2 great grandchildren.

An avid gardener, Mary also loved cooking for other people, playing the piano, reading, and needlework.
She loved to laugh. She delighted in children.

A treasured legacy for her family is having 2 of Mary's great-granddauthers bearing her name, one is Mary, another Elizabeth.

At an early age, Mary felt compelled to become a missionary nurse. She and Paul spent many years in Guatemala doing mission work. Upon their return to the United States, Mary continued her nursing in labor and delivery, retiring from Research Medical Center. With Paul, she was passionately involved in Hispanic ministries in the Kansas City area.

As an early riser, every day began with Bible reading and prayer, particularly for her family members.

God blessed Mary with 84 years of His grace, provision, faithfulness, love, and home.

A Celebration of Mary's Life will take place at 1:00pm on Wednesday, July 21, 2015 at Blue Valley Baptist Church, 8925 W. 151st St, Overland Park, KS.
