Mary Elizabeth Rothe

Mary Rothe, Lenexa, Kansas, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012, at her daughter's home in Paola, Kansas.

Mary was born February 22, 1931 in Lansing, Kansas, to Claud and Margaret Linaweaver. She graduated from Lansing High School. As a young girl, Mary worked at St. Mary's and Wadsworth Hospitals. She later was employed with Northwesten Mutual for 20 years and Quest for seven years. Mary was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed playing bridge with the Washington Square Bridge Club.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Rothe in 1977, parents and three brothers, Glenn, Walter and Carl Linaweaver. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Brinkley and her husband, Carlis, Paola, KS; son, David and Nancy Rothe, Overland Park, Kansas; three grandchildren, Tracy Cass, Brittany Wright and Katherine Schooley; and many other family and friends.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Monday, July 2, 2012, at the Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Graveside service will be 1:30 pm, Tuesday at the Sunset Memory Gardens, Leavenworth, Kansas.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice or Trinity Lutheran Church.
