Mary “June” Trice

June 12, 1925 — July 19, 2014

Mary "June" Trice, 89, of Shawnee, KS passed away peacefully at Kansas City Hospice House on Saturday, July 19, 2014 after a dignified battle with lung cancer and COPD. June was born June 12, 1925 in Dublin, TX, the second of five children born to Carl and Velma Sanders. June graduated from North Texas State University in 1946 with a Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics. She married Shuler Trice in Dublin, TX on June 1, 1946. They spent a majority of their 51 years of married life in Texas. June was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and an active member in UMW, most recently at Shawnee United Methodist Church. She was primarily a homemaker, although she did work for the JC Penney Company in Kansas City for several years. June was an excellent cook, seamstress, and oil painter. She enjoyed watching Texas Rangers baseball games, especially when Pudge Rodriguez was the catcher. June had a good sense of humor and many good friends. She was devoted to her family and will be greatly missed. June was preceded in death by her husband, Shuler, and a brother, Bill Sanders. She is survived by her son Craig Trice (Diana) and daughter Cynthia Eubank (Steve), six grandchildren: Olivia Trice, Brandon Trice, Ryan Trice, Bret Eubank (Megan), Zack Eubank, and Tiffany Bakker (Gerry), four great-grandchildren, her sister Kathy Logan, two brothers, Herb Sanders and Carl B. Sanders, Jr. (Jan), plus several cousins and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation

A visitation will be held at Amos Family Funeral Home, Shawnee, KS from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, July 22, 2014. A funeral service will be held Saturday July 26, 2014 in Dublin, TX.
