Master Deputy Matthew S. Cecil

Master Deputy Matthew S. Cecil, 44, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2019, at Overland Park Regional. Matthew was born on August 17, 1975, to Charles Cecil and Linda Carroll in Independence, Missouri. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Scott Cecil; maternal grandparents Daniel and Phyllis Sophy; paternal grandparents Charles E. and WillaDean Cecil. He is survived by his wife, Jeri Cecil; his daughter, Vanessa Cecil; his step-children, Mikayla Doyle and Gabe Benavides; his father and stepmother, Charles and Katie Cecil; and mother, Linda Carroll; and siblings Stacey Thompson, Mindy Cecil, Amy Baer, Shane Cecil.

A visitation will be on Monday, October 7, 2019 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm at Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas 66213.
