Maurice L. DeGraeve, 95, of Shawnee, passed away June 30, 2016 just a few weeks shy of his 96th birthday. He was the second of six children of Henry and Elizabeth (Bourquin) DeGraeve. In his early years he was a vegetable farmer and later he worked for JCCC as a maintenance and grounds supervisor. Maurice loved his family and his Belgian heritage. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary (Mestdagh), his grandson Ronald Maurice DeGraeve, his brothers Albert, Omer and Clarence and his sister Florine Beatty. His survivors include his son Jim, daughters Marie (Larry) Justice, Janice (John) Henggeler, Joan (Tom) Weller and daughter-in-law Sharon DeGraeve, 8 grandchildren 13 great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren,7 step-great grandchildren, a sister, Janet Dressler and sisters-in-law Dorothy and Elna DeGraeve.

Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 2 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass at the church.

Memorial Contributions
