Maurice L. Harnett of Olathe, KS, died Monday July 7, 2014 at the age of 85. Beloved son of the late John and Anna Harnett. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Dorothy and brother Allen Harnett. Maurice is survived by his sister Annabelle Figge of O'Fallon, MO, nine nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins, great-nephews, great-nieces and many friends. Maurice was a lifelong resident of the Kansas City and Olathe areas. He owned and operated Merriam Boat Repair for many years and later worked for Marley Cooling Tower Company, RO, and finished his working career at Monosem Inc. Maurice loved ballroom dancing and frequented the many dancing venues in the area. His real passion however was his machine shed where he spent many hours designing, repairing, and creating all sorts of tools, machines, and various other metal works. He was a remarkable talent.

Visitation & Service

A visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Thursday at the Amos Family Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral service will be Friday at 10 am also at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, KC, KS.
