Max C. Marsh

October 27, 1939 — June 11, 2017

Max Clifford Marsh, 77, passed away on Sunday, June 11 2017. Max, the son of Clark and Lois Ann Marsh, was born on October 27, 1939, in Darlington, MO.  After graduating from Albany High School in 1957, he attended Central Missouri State College, earning his Bachelor of Science in Education in 1960.  He taught in Raytown, MO, where he met Joann Biggs.  They were married February 15, 1964.  He received a Masters of Library Science from the University of Denver in 1965.  Max and Joann moved to Merriam, KS where they raised their two daughters, Ann and Jennifer.  He was a librarian in the Shawnee Mission Schools for 36 years.  Max's greatest joys were reading, the arts, being outdoors, and his family - especially his grandchildren.  One of his proudest accomplishments was building a cabin on his own, and knowing it still stands over 40 years later.  Even though a stroke stole his ability to speak, Max's infectious smile allowed others to enjoy his warm personality.  He leaves behind a lifetime of dear friends and memories.

Max was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Betty Lou Maxon and Dixie Boley, and his wife Joann.

He is survived by daughters Ann (Mike) Scheller of Emporia, KS, Jennifer (Cody) Fulks of Topeka, KS, and his grandchildren - David, Maranda and Bradley Scheller, and Gentry and Alie Fulks.

Visitation is Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee, KS. Graveside service at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Berlin Cemetery in Gentry Co., MO.
