Max Richard Murray 97 of Merriam, KS passed away peacefully October 24, 2021 at Brookdale Rosehill in Shawnee, Kansas. Max was born in Shawnee, Kansas on February 15, 1924 to the late Maggielee Bookter and Robert Sheldon Murray.
Max is a veteran of World War II, he served honorably in the Army Air Corp as an airplane mechanic with Air Transport Command. Max's lifelong career with Trans World Airline began in 1942 as a apprentice mechanic, he retired in 1986 as a Lead Inspector.
Max was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Vada Murray and brother Robert William Murray. He is survived by his daughters Laura Winsor and husband Dennis and Mary Sheridan and husband Scott; his grandchildren, Stephen and Morgan Sanders; as well as his great-grandchildren Emerson Bolkhen and Sunny Ray Sanders.
His funeral will be held Saturday October 30, 2021 visitation 10:30 service at 11:30 at The Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee. Burial will follow at Johnson County Funeral Chapel and Memorial Gardens, Overland Park, KS.
