On Sunday, December 14, 2014, Melanie Hollenbeck Kroh suddenly left us. No one expected her to leave so soon, and her passing has left a great void in the hearts of those who loved her. Melanie was born August 5, 1977 and grew up in Merriam, Kansas where she graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School and Johnson County Community College Nursing School. She completed her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree in 2012. Melanie was proud to be a nurse and enjoyed working in the medical profession. She was not only well liked by those she worked with, but also well respected. Most of all, Melanie's life was fulfilled by her children, her family and her friends. Her children were the light of her life, as were her family and friends. Melanie was preceded in death by her brother, Bradley Hollenbeck. She is survived by her significant other, Mike Maxwell; and children Dylan, Alexander and Jordyn Kroh of Olathe, Kansas. She is survived by her father and mother, James and Linda Hollenbeck of Merriam, Kansas, her maternal grandmother, Loralie Shackelford of Osage City, KS as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. It has been said that the true value of a person's life is best gauged by the number of loved ones left behind, and in Melanie's case the number speaks for itself.
