Michael Keith Bartosewcz (Bart) left this earth on February 11, 2025. Michael was born on November 9, 1951 to Fred and Ruth Bartosewcz in North Adams, Massachusetts. He was preceded in death by both his parents. He is survived by his wife Joyce and siblings: Craig (Cindy) Bartosewcz, Nancy (Val) Silulu, and Shelley (John) Sanchez. Bart leaves behind his children Sean (Alyssa), Cody (Hannah), Kayla, Debbie (children’s mother) and step-children Megan (Patrick) Moylan and Blake Firner (Jason Palo La Costa). Bart has numerous nieces and nephews and 5 grandchildren.
Bart graduated from Whitingham High School in Vermont. He received his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering and his Master’s in Physics from the University of Vermont. He moved to California and started his prestigious career specializing in laser optic for military and space. Some of his projects include: Airborne Laser, Weather Satellite Camera Design, Space-Based Infrared (SBIR), and NASA consultant.
Bart. Husband. Dad. Grandfather. Brother. Scientist. Social Butterfly.
To know Bart the Rocketman is to love him. He never met a stranger. This love of people and making friends with everyone began during his Ultimate Frisbee days at Stanford.
Bart (aka Snoopy) was most at home where he grew up in Readsboro Vermont. He shared this love by making sure everyone close to him had an unlimited supply of Vermont maple syrup.
Bartman was a mathematician and scientist at heart, with an intense passion for ham radios and observing the universe for extraterrestrials. The scientist in him was determined to help everyone and anyone equally love all things science and math, especially the quintessential ham radio - N6T0L.
Bart gifted Joyce, his children Sean, Cody and Kayla, and their mother Debbie, with a 10-tter last name, for which they are eternally grateful. He trained them to always be prepared, ensured his children always had a “jeep fund” available, duct tape, and tarps and a ham radio, because you just never know. His kids will always remember his whistle as their childhood calling.
Those who were fortunate enough to know Blue-eyed Bart knew chapstick, the pool, Aruba, and over zealous Amazon purchasing made him happy.
And may heaven be full of all those things. Above all, Bart always said that Joyce was his angel and he was blessed to spend almost 17 years together. To my honey, love you forever and always.
