Michael James Buckley, 65, of Shawnee, passed away Saturday, January 24 at his home.

Michael was born June 30, 1949 to the late Albert Keith and Pauline (Curran) Buckley in Newark, New Jersey. Michael met his wife Carmen Soto during his college years, they were married on July 4, 1970. Michael was a dedicated husband and family man. He looked forward to family vactions and finding free activities in the Kansas City area, to share with friends and family. Michael was an avid reader, and always had something to read. He was a fan of all types of music, and loved collecting all types of LP's and CD's.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Carmen; three children, Michael Albert Buckley; Lorelei Stinnett and husband Craig; Cynthia Smith and husband Daniel; eight brothers, Fred, William, Martin, Daniel, Joseph, Vincent, Brian, and Andrew, three sisters, Noreen McManus; Rosemary Carmichael, and Janet Aguilar. Six grandchildren, Robert Warden, Marlena Stinnett, Keith Stinnett, Elijah Smith, Giselle Smith, Danika Smith; 24 nieces and nephews; and 4 great nieces and nephews.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 29 at the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee. Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, at the Shawnee Church of the Nazarene, 5539 Quivira Rd., Shawnee, KS 66216.
