Michael L. Calcara, 85, of Shawnee, passed away Sat., May 17, 2014 at his home with his loving wife Betty by his side.

Mike was born Nov. 18, 1928 to the late Marco and Corrienne Calcara in KC, MO. Mike attended Holy Name Grade School in KC, MO and graduated from Central High School in 1945. Mike was a banker for 52 years, serving Commercial National and Shawnee State Bank. Mike also served as Treasurer for the Catholic Youth Organization for Johnson and Wyandotte counties for 55 years. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus #2332 and Bishop John Ward Assembly 4th Degree.

Mike is survived by his wife Betty; 4 sons, Tim Calcara (Marilyn); Robin Calcara (Barbara); Jamie Calcara (Re'Nee); Mickey Calcara (Kathy); sister, Mary Ann Engler, 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday., May 20 at the Amos Family Funeral Home; the Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Shawnee.
