Michael W. Conley, 75, of Shawnee, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 23, 2019.

Mike was born May 5, 1944 to the late Clifford and Dorothy Conley in Vincennes, IN.  He graduated from Lawrenceville High School in 1962.  Shortly after graduating, Michael enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served two tours in Vietnam as a Radar operator. When he returned from active duty, Mike attended Danville Junior College.  On August 19, 1972 Mike married Sharon Enloe in Lawrenceville, IL.  He was a devoted father and husband, and served as an Assistant Scout Master for his son, Chad's Boy Scout Troop #93.  Mike was an active volunteer for Shawnee Community Services and looked forward to helping deliver meals, organize donations and lending a hand every Thursday.  He was an avid cyclist and tried to stay active as much as time would allow.  On his 70th birthday, Mike rode his bicycle 70 miles.  He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dan Conley.

Mike is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sharon Conley; a son, Chad Conley; three sisters, Nancy Bohlen; Dorothy Scobbie; Sally Detweiler; two brothers in law, Douglas Enloe and wife Jeanne and Stuart Enloe and wife Lois.  Mike is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation and Services

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm Saturday, September 21 at the Amos Family Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.  Michael will be laid to rest at 2 pm Tuesday, September 24 at Lawrenceville Cemetery in Lawrenceville, Illinois.
