Michael N. Connor

October 5, 1935 — January 13, 2021

Michael N. Connor passed away peacefully in his home January 13, 2021.  Mike was born October 5, 1935 in Syracuse, New York to Eugene Connor and Susan C. Connor (Kisor).  Mike joins his late wife Loretta R. Connor (Carey) and his daughter Dawn M. Connor.  He is survived by his daughter Deborah (Richard) Folkers, his grandson Joshua (Whitney) Ball, great grandchildren Isabella, Shaun and Connor Ball, and his brothers Thomas Connor and Dennis Connor along with many nieces and nephews.

Mike served in the Army with the 62nd Transportation Company for three years.  Upon discharge Mike went to work for United Parcel Service (UPS) in 1961 as a delivery driver when UPS was just a small company.  In his 30 years working for UPS he worked his way up the ladder, helping establish UPS's presence in North Dakota, South Dakota and then Wichita, Kansas where he moved his family.  After a few years in Wichita, UPS moved Mike and Loretta to Kansas City where he worked several management positions until he retired. Mike was very loyal to UPS and could sit for hours telling you the history of the company and his time with them.

After retirement, Mike and Loretta motor-homed all over the country, spending time back in upstate NY with family, summers at Stockton Lake, the fall in Las Vegas (yes, slots were their fun) and months during the winter at Limetree Park, Bonita Springs Florida.  Mike served on the Limetree Park board and he and Loretta enjoyed all the fun activities and friends.  Mike kept a boat in Florida and another on Lake Stockton where he loved spending his days out fishing.

After his beloved Loretta passed away, he sold his motorhome (because he no longer had his navigator by his side) and put a mobile home on the Limetree Park lot where he continued to enjoy the warm winters and time with his friends.  Summers where spent at his home in Wichita, where he moved to be closer to his daughter.  He loved monthly trips to Kansas City to the casinos and to have all his friends meet for a large group dinner.  Mike's last couples of years were spent happily in his own home being cared for by wonderful friends, family and workers.  Mike was the first person to tell you he had a fabulous life.
