Michael Joseph Lavin

Michael Joseph Lavin, 78, Warsaw, MO passed away Sunday,  January 26, 2020 in Columbia, MO.

Mike was born June 2, 1941 in Kansas City, MO to Evelyn and Harold Lavin. He graduated from De La Salle Academy in 1958 and was a veteran of the US Navy. On August 17, 1968, Mike married Terri Gainey in Kansas City, MO. He worked at Boelte Hall Litho, Roeland Park, KS until he retired in 2005. After retirement, Mike and Terri moved to Warsaw, MO. Mike was an active member of St. Ann Catholic Church, where he was a 4th degree knight in the Knights of Columbus. He was a volunteer at the Benton Co. Food Pantry every Thursday.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Kathy Eckart and Sister Mary Ann Lavin and two brothers, Pat Lavin and Tom Lavin. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Terri; three daughters, Kala (Dean) Welch, Olathe, KS, Karla (Jimmy) Maisch, Overland Park, KS and Katy Britt, Liberty, MO; brother, Jim (Leann) Lavin, Kansas City, MO; ten grandchildren, Alex Welch, Sam Welch, Abby Welch, Haley Maisch, Patrick Maisch, Thomas Maisch, Cece Maisch, Zachary Maisch, Skyler Britt, and Madison Rose Britt.

Visitation will be 10-11:00 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31 at St. Ann Catholic Church, Prairie Village, KS. Cremation.
