Shawnee

Michael Louis Grimm was born on October 18 th , 1959, and went to his heavenly home on January 13 th , 2022 after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. Michael left this world to be reunited with family, which includes his parents: C. Louis Grimm, and Joan Bichelmeyer Grimm; and his best friend and brother, Andrew A. Grimm.

Michael was born and raised in Shawnee, KS.  He graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest in 1977, where he played football and excelled in science. Michael then met his former wife, Lea (Collier), and together they had four beautiful children. Michael and Lea raised their family on Strawberry Hill in Kansas City, KS, an area that he was proud to be from.

Michael was multi-talented, and was able to contribute his expertise throughout the various occupations he held. His last position was one he was most passionate about: working as an engineer at Medical Solutions International in Merriam, KS. Michael was truly beloved by all those who worked there.

Michael was an extremely brilliant, inquisitive, and talented man; he always remained curious, continuously adding knowledge to an extensive list of interests he held. He was an avid car enthusiast, musician, and was especially intrigued by the topics of philosophy and quantum physics. Michael was also a self-proclaimed “mad scientist” and inventor, sharing several US Patents he created with his father. If one ever had a question about how something worked, he probably knew the answer. Michael also had a passion for aviation; he held a private pilot’s license, and loved to go flying whenever he possibly could.

Michael is survived by his four children: Erin Parrish (husband Chris) of Fort Worth, TX; Daniel Grimm (wife Nicole) of Kansas City, KS; Grace Wepler (husband Aaron) of Ladera Ranch, CA, and Joseph Grimm (wife Krissy) of Shawnee, KS. Also surviving are his siblings: Douglas A. Grimm, Mary Kay Grimm, and Ann Marie Grimm. Michael has nine grandchildren, along with a large extended family containing numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews., all of whom he loved and cherished.
