Michael Gerard Bollinger, affectionately known to many as "Mike," was born on November 11, 1953, in Topeka, Kansas. On October 29, 2024, at the age of 70, he departed this world, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and love.
Mike was a man who never met a stranger. Known for his larger-than-life personality, everyone who had the privilege of knowing him carries a cherished "Mike Bollinger" story. Throughout his life, Mike's actions reflected his deep devotion to God, his faith, his family, and his friends. He was a beloved figure who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
After completing his education at Kansas State University, Mike began his career working for Taco Bandido in Monroe, Louisiana, where he was employed by his sister Sharon and brother-in-law Dan Ross. In 1987, he joined InterMountain Management in Monroe, Louisiana, where he proudly served until his passing. At InterMountain, Mike wore many hats and lived by the adage, "If you enjoy what you do, you will never work another day in your life."
Outside of his professional endeavors, Mike's interests were deeply rooted in his family and grandkids, as well as his passion for Kansas State University Athletics. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, reflecting his commitment to his faith and community.
Mike is preceded in death by his father Zeno Bollinger, mother Kathryn Bollinger, sister Sharon Ross, and daughter Mary Elizabeth Bollinger. He is survived by his devoted wife, Pamela Bollinger; his sons, Kevin Bollinger and wife Allison, and Brian Bollinger and wife Sarah. His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren: Henry, Maisy, Lucy, Brooks, Ruby, Frankie, Davis, and Hallie. His sister Nancy Lacy and husband Harold of Lone Tree, CO; their kids Kimberly Bronhard of Dedham, MA, and Kirstin Braley of Parker, CO. Also nephews Danny Ross and Jason Ross of Monroe, LA.
In celebrating his life, we honor a remarkable man whose spirit touched everyone he encountered. Mike's love for life and others will forever remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
There will be a rosary on Sunday, November 3rd starting at 4pm at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with a visitation to immediately follow until 6pm. Funeral Mass at 11am on Monday, November 4th at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Burial at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
