Michael F. “Rattlesnake” Scherer

Mike Scherer, 47, Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at his home.

Mike was born in Kansas City, Kansas, and was a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Turner High School and a veteran of the US Marine Corps and Navy. Mike enjoyed motorcycles, outdoor sports and charity events.

He is survived by his two daughters, Holly Jaklevich and husband Matt, and their children, Aidyn, Faiyth and one on the way, Olathe, Kansas and Cassie Scherer and her mother, Tammy Scherer, Kansas City, Kansas; mother and father, Sharon and Walter Scherer, Kansas City, Kansas; two sisters, Michele and Ed Hale, Merriam, Kansas and Kim Scherer, Kansas City, Kansas; brother, Todd and Brenda Scherer, Kansas City, Kansas; and many other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rattlesnake Memorial Fund, Main Street Credit Union, 13001 W. 95th Street, Lenexa, Kansas 66215.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Visitation will be from 3:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 31, 2011, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm, at the chapel; cremation to follow.
