Minnie O. Boyd, 91, of Merriam, Kansas, passed away February 15, 2011.
Minnie was born November 6, 1919, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Ollie George and Minnie Lee Allen. Minnie attended NE Junior High in Kansas City, Kansas, and graduated from Sumner High School. She also received a certification in Cosmetology.
Minnie accepted Christ at an early age and was last a member of Second Metropolitan Baptist Church in Argentine, Kansas, where she attended regularly until her health didn't allow. Minnie worked for many years at Shawnee Mission Medical Center, she was involved in the South Park PTA, she supported all Hocker Grove and Shawnee Mission North school functions.
Minnie was preceded in death by her husband Mitchell Fowler, Sr. and her second husband Sherman Boyd; a brother Steven J. Allen, a sister Juanita Riggins and a great-granddaughter Taylor Marks. She is survived by sons Mitchell Fowler, Jr. (Georlene) and Gerald Fowler (Dee), Jeffrey Jones, and daughters Delores Parker (Fred), and Linda Marks (Richard); 11 Grandchildren and 16 Great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Buford J. Allen and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation and Memorial Service
A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 19, 2011, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee with the memorial service following at 1 pm.
