October 4, 1931 — May 31, 2015

Morgan Clyde Day, 83, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the Olathe Medical Center's Hospice House. He was born October 4, 1931 in Rogers, Arkansas to Claude and Faye Day.

Morgan's construction career was interrupted while he served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. Morgan received the Korean Service Medal with 2*'s, United Nations Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Korean Presidential Unit Citation.

Morgan returned from Korea to finish his career as a cement mason. Morgan is survived by a daughter and two sons. Tom Day of Desoto Kansas, Claudette Day of Grandview Missouri and Morgan Day and his wife Barbara of Lenexa Kansas. He is also survived by his sister Mary Lou Timberlake, two grandchildren Rachel Lafreniere and Riley Day, children of Tom Day and Janet Day.

A special thank you to all the supportive family and friends that helped him through the years. Also thank you to the staff of Overland Park Nursing and Rehab Center, Shawnee Mission Medical Center and the Hospice House of Olathe for their specialized care and support.

The family will receive friends from 3 - 4 p.m., Sunday, June 7, 2015, at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, June 8, 2015, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Leavenworth National Cemetery.
