Myrtle S. Thomas

Myrtle S. Thomas, 90, of Lenexa, Kansas, passed away, Friday, December 5, 2008 at the Sweet Life at Rosehill.

Mrs. Thomas was born in 1918 to Sibylla and Alex Woods of Torrington, Wyoming. Myrtle married Cecil E. Thomas, September 22, 1944 at Scotts Bluff, Nebraska and moved to Johnson County, Kansas in 1948. She was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. Her husband, Cecil E. Thomas, preceded her in death in 1999. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Wilber, Warren and Sam Woods and a sister Florence Gray.

She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Arlene Goad, Shawnee, Kansas and Alice Jeanette Thomas, Topeka, Kansas; a son, Jerry Allen Thomas and daughter-in-law, Chin Thomas, Del Ray Beach, Florida; and a grandson, Aaron Wesley Goad, Overland Park, Kansas.

The family suggests contributions to the Monticello United Methodist Church.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Visitation will be from 10-11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 9th at Monticello United Methodist Church with funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Monticello Union Cemetery.
