Nan P. Bowers, 91, of Shawnee, passed away Friday, August 24, at Overland Park Nursing and Rehab.Nan was born April 4, 1927 in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Westport High School. On her 21st birthday, Nan married Robert K. Bowers in Kansas City, MO. They were married 39 years before he passed away in 1987. Nan was a former member of the Elizabeth Benton Daughters of the American Revolution. She owned and operated her own mailing business. Nan also served as a Girl Scout Leader for ten years. Nan is survived by her children, Linda Bowers; Charlie Bowers and wife Lyn; David Bowers and wife Mary; three grandchildren Eric Bowers, Karen Bowers and Jennifer Bowers.
A celebration of Nan's life will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, September 2, at Johnny's Tavern, 13131 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Shawnee, KS 66216.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Great Plans Hospice, 601 W. Leota St., North Platte, NE 69101.
