Nancy Lee Chappell, 69, Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009 at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Overland Park, Kansas.

Nancy was born October 9, 1939 in Santa Ana, California to Willard and Beulah (Creed) Brown. She and Van married on September 2, 1960. She was a 1962 graduate of Wichita University. Nancy accompanied her husband and growing family in his Air Force career of 26 years serving in various locations in the United States. She was a member of the Heritage United Methodist Church, Sunflower Circle and Valley Viewers Sunday School Class.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Van Chappell of the home; two daughters, Amy and husband, John Cissell, Lenexa, Kansas and Heather Jones, Maplewood, Minnesota; son Todd and wife, Krista Chappell, Littleton, Colorado; sister, Charlotte and husband Cal Barnhart, Knoxville, Tennessee; and five grandchildren, Alex and Jacob Cissell, Mike Jones, Macey and Lindsey Chappell. Additionally she leaves a host of family and friends scattered across the United States to mourn her death.

Memorial Service

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 19 at the Heritage United Methodist Church, 12850 Quivira Road, Overland Park, Kansas 66213.
