Nancy M. Kahn

November 25, 1941 — January 5, 2012

Nancy M. (Tindel) Kahn, 70, of Shawnee, Kansas, died suddenly and unexpectedly January 5, 2012.

Nancy was born November 25, 1941, in Pittsburg, Kansas, to Richard and Laura (Scott) Tindel.

She graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1959, received her BA in education with honors from Pittsburg State University in 1971, and her MS in Education with honors from Central Missouri State University in 1982. Nancy taught for 25 years in the Business Dept at Oak Park High School retiring in 1996.

She was married to the love of her life, David Kahn, in the First Christian Church, Pittsburg, Kansas, on March 7, 1964. She was a charter member the Shawnee German-American Club, a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority for 50 years, and a lifetime member of the Pitt State University Alumni Assoc.

Nancy and her husband traveled extensively, visiting over 34 countries and most of theUnited States. By far her favorite trip was the two weeks spent in Ireland. Nancy was proud of her Irish heritage. She loved her two cats, Tica and Schotzi, their ashes will reside with hers. She was an avid fan of both her children's sports and most recently her grandchildren's. Nancy was a great cook and always looked forward to cooking at the holidays.

She was preceded in death by her father Richard F. Tindel and a brother Robert J. Tindel. She is survived by her husband David Kahn; sons Christopher and wife Kristy Kahn and Eric Kahn; grandchildren, Travis, Bryan, and Brady Kahn; her mother Laura M. Tindel; brother William R. Tindel; and a sister Carolyn Longerot.

A visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2012, followed by a memorial service at 7 pm at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 5325 Nieman Road, Shawnee, Kansas.
