Nancy A. (Ridens) Sons-Deringer

Nancy A. Sons-Deringer, 84, passed away on Sunday, July 24th, 2022 at the Kansas City Hospice House.

She was born on October 9th, 1937 to Charles and Erma (Graham) Ridens in Kansas City, Kansas. Nancy grew up on a farm in Linwood, Kansas with her parents and older brother Jesse. She graduated from Linwood High School.

In 1955 she married William Harvey Sons. Together they had four daughters, Cindy, Regina, Sheila and Kim. Bill preceded Nancy in death in 1978.

In June of 1988, Nancy married Harry E. Deringer. Nancy worked as a bookkeeper for decades. She enjoyed drinking coffee on her porch, being outside and going for walks, and cross-stitching. She especially loved being a grandma and spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry; brother Jesse Ridens; and her parents. Nancy is survived by her four daughters Cindy (John) Risner, Houston, TX, Regina (Robert) King, Bonner Springs, KS, Sheila (Gary) Boerger, Shawnee, KS, and Kim (Perry) Schrag, The Colony, TX; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and many loved ones and friends who will miss her dearly.

A visitation will be held at the Amos Family Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 3 pm, with a service beginning at 3 pm. She will be laid to rest at Pleasant View Cemetery in Shawnee, KS following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Macular Degeneration Association .
