Nancy Ann (Hank) Lichtenauer Wallace passed away on July 17th, 2021, at Brookdale of Overland Park.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Russell Wallace in 2011. She is survived by her son, Michael Wallace and his wife Paula of Shawnee.
Nancy was born on January 27th, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Virginia (Houlehan) Lichtenauer. Until her last breath, Nancy cherished her "Million Dollar Childhood" and considered her father to be her role model and best friend.
Nancy graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1961 and IBM Computer School in 1962. After a brief stint working for AT&T, Nancy had a very successful career working for various trucking companies in the KC area as a City Dispatcher. She also was a member of the Shawnee Police Department for several years serving as a Crossing Guard and working Security at Bishop Miege and Shawnee Mission School functions.
Nancy was an avid reader and a true animal lover who cared for numerous dogs and cats in her lifetime. Although she never had the opportunity to care for one, Nancy was fascinated by the majesty and beauty of Clydesdale horses. Post her retirement in 2000, Nancy enjoyed time spent traveling the United States in her RV, tending to her flower garden, and relaxing in her swimming pool. Those closest to Nancy knew that she loved to frequent casinos from time to time playing the slot machines.
Nancy wanted to say a special good-bye to her special friend of many years - I will always love you.
