Nancy A. Wood

Nancy Ann Wood, 72, Shawnee, KS passed away Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014 at Aberdeen Village, Olathe, KS.

Nancy was born Sept. 25, 1942 in Kansas City, MO to Arthur and Leone Niestrom. She was a graduate of Shawnee Mission East High School, attended the University of Kansas where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. Nancy volunteered with Boy Scouts of America in numerous leadership positions and was a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award, which is the highest honor bestowed upon a volunteer for the Heart of America Council.

Nancy's passion was her two sons and three grandchildren. She was actively involved in their lives and rarely missed an event. Nancy was a devoted wife to her husband of 48 years.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Wood, Sr., parents and her brother, William Niestrom. Survivors include two sons, Robert A. (Kim) Wood, Jr. and William A. (Jennifer) Wood; and grandchildren, Abriana, Andrew and Brooke Wood all of Lenexa, KS.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, Nov. 20 at the Amos Family Funeral Home; burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation via the Heart of America Boy Scout Council.
