Naomi Ruth Davis, née Ottens, who graced this world on October 13, 1935, passed away on December 21, 2023. Born in Kansas City, Kansas, she embarked on a wonderful journey, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. Her life was guided by her faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ who has now taken her into glory.

Naomi's life was filled with love and companionship as she shared 67 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Paul (Gene) Davis. Together, they created a legacy of unwavering devotion and faith. They married just before Gene entered the Navy, and when he concluded his service, they moved to Shawnee, Kansas where they started a home and created a family.

An embodiment of grace and dedication, Naomi epitomized the essence of family values. Naomi and Gene raised two children, David Davis and Lisa Naughton, and her gift to her family was unwavering love and dedication. Her commitment extended beyond the confines of her home to a large network of extended family and friends, and more than three decades working for the federal government, primarily at the Department of Agriculture.

Her spiritual roots were firmly planted in the Baptist Church, initially at the First Baptist Church of Shawnee and later at the Lenexa Baptist Church, where her devout presence enriched the congregation. Naomi's passions were as vibrant as the flowers she cherished, and she found joy in nurturing their beauty. She was an avid crocheter. She created beautiful blankets for her family. She loved to travel, from Colorado to see the mountains, to Hawaii, to the north and south and anywhere there seemed to be beautiful spaces. A favorite was Branson, and in the last year of her life she was able to see her beloved Sight and Sound, ride the Branson Belle, and attend many favorite shows. Her journeys created cherished memories that will forever linger in the hearts of those who shared those adventures with her.

Naomi's departure leaves a poignant void, and she is preceded in death by her beloved husband Gene and her dear brother Buford. However, her legacy lives on through the lives she touched and the memories she created. She leaves behind a treasured lineage: her children, David and Lisa; her grandchildren, Tyler and his wife Leah, Kellen and his wife Lizzy, Corrie, and Jordan; her step-grandchildren Matthew and his spouse Dean, Amanda and her husband Bo, Ethan, Isaac and Grace; and her great-grandchildren, Tyberius, Ezekiel, and Lorelai.

Naomi’s legacy of love, dedication to family, and an unwavering zest for life remains. Her warmth, kindness, and indomitable spirit will remain cherished by those fortunate enough to have been a part of her world. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
