Naomi Jean Wirth, 92, Shawnee, KS passed away Friday, March 10, 2023 at Colonial Village, Overland Park, KS. Visitation will be 5-7:00 pm, Thursday, March 16 at the Amos Family Funeral Home, Shawnee, KS. Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Friday, March 17 at the Feltner Funeral Home, Lyndon, KS; burial in Lyndon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Naomi was born Sept. 9, 1930 in Lyndon, KS to James and Virgie Sims. She attended Lyndon High School, then moved to Topeka, KS to start her career at Hallmark Card Co. She met Chuck Wirth and they were wed on Nov. 4, 1951. Naomi and Chuck had two children, Debbie and Mark. In March of 1973 she and Chuck moved to Shawnee, KS where she began as a teacher’s aide at Shawnoe Elementary School.
Naomi was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles “Chuck” Wirth on Feb. 10. 2015 and sister, Gayle Laidig. Survivors include her daughter, Debra (Don) Willard; son, Mark Wirth; sister, Lois (Paul) Fay; four grandchildren, Tiffany Ferro, Tyler (Claressa) Wirth, Erin (Chris) Newman, and Miles Wirth; and six great grandchildren, Brecken, Brady, Whitney, Anthony, Grayson, and Isabelle. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Colonial Village and Faith Hospice.
