Neelie Mae Lewis

Neelie Mae Lewis, 95, of Shawnee, Kansas passed away September 30th, 2023.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, October 4th, 2023 at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Neelie will be laid to rest next to her husband Robert E. Lewis at Arvonia Cemetery in Arvonia, Kansas.

Neelie was born September 27th, 1928 in Booneville, Arkansas to Wyatt and Willie Brown.

Neelie is preceded in death by her parents; husband; her brother Wyatt Jr. Brown, nephew John Brown; niece Nancy Brown and grandson Zachary Steele. She is survived by her sons Larry and Robert Steele; granddaughter Madison Steele; nephews Jim and Jerry Brown and niece Jackie Brown. As well as grandson Jonathan Babbit and great granddaughters Ashley and Anna Babbit and Guinevere and Evelyn Steele.

As family and friends know, Neelie was one of a kind. She was amazing hard worker. She loved her working as a beautician and did it for 50 plus years.
Neelie would do anything for anyone, especially but not just limited to her loved ones.

Her sense of humor always lightened up the room. She will be remembered for her selflessness, hard work, humor and determination. Her heartfelt kindness and compassion for others was unmatched. Her smile was contagious and would brighten everyone’s day.

Neelie will be forever missed by many.
