Nicholas R. Moeder

October 4, 1985 — June 16, 2013

Nicholas Ryan Moeder, age 27 years, a resident of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly on June 16, 2013. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and best friend.

Nicholas was born on October 4, 1985, in Overland Park, Kansas. He graduated from Shawnee Mission North in 2004; and was known for his many contributions as a talented football player. He attended both Benedictine College and the University of Kansas in his pursuit of a degree in finance.

Nick was passionate about sports, his family, and his many friends. He will be remembered by all of us as an outgoing guy, with incredible kindness, a joyful spirit, and a captivating smile that he frequently flashed. Nick always stood up for the little guy. His sweet personality was evident in everything he did, including volunteering for the Make A Wish Foundation.

Nick is survived by his devoted mother, Wanda Christensen of Shawnee, Kansas; his father Carl Moeder of Overland Park, Kansas; his sister Jennifer Moeder of Overland Park, Kansas; his brother Matthew Moeder of Kansas City, Missouri; his maternal grandmother Boni Tobin of Colchester, Vermont; his uncle Patrick Christensen of Denver, Colorado; his aunt Paula Christensen of Kansas City, Kansas; his aunt Katie Soons of Colchester, Vermont; and his aunt Sarah Morgan of St. Joseph, Missouri; his uncle Bob Moeder of Topeka, KS; his uncle Don Moeder of Carbondale, KS; his uncle Paul Moeder of Humble, TX; his aunt Theresa Hutton of Edmond, OK; his uncle Mark Moeder of Topeka, KS; his uncle Kenny Moeder of Humble, TX; his uncle David Moeder of Blackwell, OK; Marjorie Krout of Ponca City, OK, as well as many other, cousins and family. Nick was close to his great-grandmother Wanda Gochenour of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Nick's network of friends is innumerable; and he cherished those connections.

A celebration of his blessed life will be held on at 1:00 p.m., Thursday June 20, 2013, at the Amos Funeral Home & Crematory. Friends may come and leave condolences beginning at 8:00 a.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Moeder family interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, KCK
