Norma Conner

On November 21, 2015, Norma Conner passed away, leaving a loving family and many friends who so greatly admired her strength, kindness and many accomplishments both in her professional and personal life. She and her late husband, Jim, moved to Winter Haven in 1982 from Washington D.C., where she lived until moving to Shawnee Mission, Kansas in 2012.

During her many happy years in Winter Haven, she was involved with the First Presbyterian Church, and volunteered with Friends of the Library and the Winter Haven Hospital, in addition to being an active member of the P.E.O Sisterhood.

Norma is survived by her daughter, Cindy White of Los Angeles, Ca, and her son Dr. John Van Zandt of Shawnee, Kansas. Additionally she has four grandchildren: Jennifer Eisenman of Ft. Worth, Texas; Jordan Van Zandt of St. Louis, Missouri; Dr. Joshua Van Zandt of Overland Park, Kansas; and Jacob Van Zandt, a Navy Seabee based in Oxnard, California. She also has four great grandchildren. They are Aidan and Avery Eisenman of Ft. Worth, Texas and Bo and Lenni Van Zandt of Overland Park, Kansas. Other surviving immediate relatives are her two loving sisters, Glynda Prouty of Liberty, Missouri and Patricia Ritterhouse of Ft. Collins, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Winter Haven and Friends of the Library. A memorial service is scheduled for family members at a later date.
