Norman “Shorty” Duane Ehmcke

November 17, 1922 — October 2, 2012

Norman went to be with the Lord on October 2, 2012, at the Kansas City Hospice House.

Norman was born on November 17, 1922, to Gladys Bukey in Malmo, Nebraska. He was raised by his Grandpa and Grandma Moody in Leshara.

Norman loved hunting and fishing in South Dakota, enjoyed bowling three times a week with a 300 perfect game ring and 299 ring, and loved working crossword puzzles and putting together jigsaw puzzles with the family.

He was preceded in death by his wife Luetta, mother Gladys, brothers Don and Lyle, and sister Gail. He leaves a sister Nadine Canacari of Denver, Colorado; two sisters-in-law, Marie Ehmcke of Denver, Colorado, and JoAnn Voss of Omaha, Nebraska; three daughters Sherry Roberts, Cheryl Skinner, and Cindy Kelly; four granddaughters and one grandson; five great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons; many nieces and nephews; and a puppy named Holly.

A memorial service will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery in Leshara, NE, on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at 2:00 p.m.
