Olan G. Holt, 89, of Shawnee, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Olan was born November 6, 1927 to the late Arthur D. and Ruth Mae Holt in Clinton, Missouri. Olan served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as a Master Carpenter and retired in 1991. He enjoyed traveling all over the country in the RV with his wife Zela. Olan was a member of Monticello United Methodist Church, Shawnee Masonic Lodge and was a 35 year member of the Abdallah Temple. On August 13, 1960 Olan married Zela Baker in Kansas City.
She preceded him in death on May 24, 2009. He was also preceded in death by a son, Buddy Hinkle-Holt, his sister, Billie D. Keutzer and brother, Neil Ray Holt.
Olan is survived by his daughter, Linda Doebbeling; sister, Glee Lucas; four grandchildren, Jennifer Roser; Tracy Meaden; Brenda Mathieu; Joseph Richard; 7 great grandchildren, Dylan and Ella Roser; Ian Meaden, Jr.; Barbara Krupczak; Josh, Amanda and Samantha Mathieu.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Monticello United Methodist Church, 23860 W. 75th St., Shawnee, KS 66227. The family will also receive friends prior to the service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, funeral services will be at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Grove, MO.
